Akragas hires Fabrizio Cammarata as coach and Ernesto Russello as sporting director
Italian Serie D side Akragas announced a new technical project for the 2026/27 Eccellenza season. Former Serie A and B player Fabrizio Cammarata, who grew up in Juventus' youth system alongside Alessandro Del Piero and later coached in Italy, Russia, Oman, Albania, Australia and the United Arab Emirates, has been appointed head coach.
Ernesto Russello, a native of Agrigento who previously served as Akragas' sporting director during its 2022/23 Eccellenza title win and later held the same role at Nissa, returns as sporting director. Club president Salvatore La Porta and director‑general Giancarlo Rosato highlighted both men’s experience and local ties as central to rebuilding a competitive squad for the upcoming campaign.
