Akris unveils Spring/Summer 2027 collection inspired by Martha Jungwirth
Swiss fashion house Akris has unveiled its Spring/Summer 2027 collection, designed by Albert Kriemler. The collection draws direct inspiration from the abstract, gestural paintings of Austrian artist Martha Jungwirth.
Kriemler translated Jungwirth’s concept of ‘Gefühlsfarben’ (felt colors) into textiles, utilizing a palette of vibrant reds, pinks, violets, and ochres. The designs feature technical elements such as laser-cut fringe, reversed jacquards, and hand-applied ribbons that mimic brushstrokes. The collection emphasizes the house’s heritage in St. Gallen by integrating sophisticated embroidery and high-quality fabrics like cashmere and double-face textiles.
The collection aims to bridge the gap between fine art and wearable tailoring, maintaining the precision characteristic of Akris while embracing the emotional urgency found in Jungwirth’s expressive brushwork.
