NetJets jet makes emergency landing in Ohio after nose-gear failure

A NetJets Cessna Citation Longitude performed an emergency landing at Akron-Canton Airport in Ohio on August 18, 2026, after its nose landing gear failed to extend. The aircraft, operating as flight EJA803 from Washington Dulles International Airport, underwent several precautionary flight patterns before the pilot attempted the landing.

During the touchdown, the pilot managed to keep the nose of the aircraft elevated for several seconds using the main landing gear, though the nose and underside eventually made contact with the pavement as the plane slowed. The aircraft sustained damage to its nose and underside, but the two pilots on board exited the vehicle without injury. No passengers were on board at the time of the incident.

Emergency crews from the City of Green Fire Division and Akron-Canton Airport responded to the scene. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has been notified, and authorities have launched an investigation to determine the cause of the mechanical failure.
