The Akron football team defeated Robert Morris 45-10 in its home opener at InfoCision Stadium. Sophomore quarterback Cibastian Broughton led the offense, completing 23 of 27 passes for 227 yards and four touchdowns.

Key contributors included Sean Patrick, who recorded 161 all-purpose yards, and Elijah Alexander, who caught two touchdown passes. Jordan Gant added 81 rushing yards and a touchdown, while backup quarterback Brayden Roggow scored a rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter.

As part of a promotional initiative, Akron alumnus Marty Whims II participated in the game by helping to script the team's opening offensive drive. Robert Morris, led by quarterback Carson Haggard, managed to tie the game at 7-7 in the second quarter before Akron took control, leading 21-10 at halftime.
