Aksa Akrilik reports significant reductions in freshwater use

Aksa Akrilik has released its 2025 TSRS-compliant Sustainability Report, detailing significant progress in resource efficiency and climate risk management. The company reported a 52 percent reduction in freshwater usage compared to its 2021 baseline, lowering consumption from 3,238,750 cubic meters to 1,552,398 cubic meters.

In terms of energy efficiency, the company and Akset Enerji utilized a total of 102,749.9 MWh of waste heat in production processes, significantly exceeding the initial annual target of 20,000 MWh. Looking forward, Aksa Akrilik aims to reduce its Scope 1 absolute greenhouse gas emissions by 40 percent by 2035 through equipment upgrades and energy efficiency projects.

The report also highlights research and development efforts, noting that sustainable product innovation accounted for 38 percent of total R&D in 2025. One such innovation includes acrylic fiber dyeable with reactive dyes, which offers a 35 percent saving in water consumption and processing time. General Manager Didem Tunçbilek stated that the company is accelerating its operational transformation by increasing efficiency in water, energy, and raw material usage.
