AKSA Composites to launch first African aerospace plant in Tunisia

Turkish firm AKSA Composites, a subsidiary of the Akkök group, is establishing its first African industrial unit in Tunisia. Located at the Borj Cedria Technopole, the project involves an initial investment of approximately $5 million (roughly 14.7 million dinars).

The facility will specialize in manufacturing advanced composite materials and components primarily for the aerospace industry, with potential applications in other high-performance sectors. The plant is expected to begin operations in 2028.

This expansion aims to strengthen Tunisia’s position within international aerospace value chains. Beyond the financial investment, the project is expected to facilitate technology transfer and the development of local technical skills. The initiative follows coordination between AKSA Composites and several Tunisian entities, including the Tunisian Association of Aerospace and Space Industries (GITAS) and FIPA-Tunisia.
