Aksa Kompozit to invest $5 million in Tunisian aerospace facility
Aksa Kompozit, a subsidiary of the Turkish Akkök Holding group, has announced a $5 million investment to establish an advanced composite manufacturing facility in Tunisia. The new entity, Aksa Tunisie Aéronautique, will be located at the Borj Cedria Technopole, occupying approximately 3,000 square meters of indoor space.
The facility will focus on the production of advanced composite parts, molds, and assembly for the aerospace sector. In addition to composite manufacturing, the site is planned to include capabilities for metal machining, heat treatment, and surface treatment to create an integrated production platform.
This project marks Aksa Kompozit’s first expansion into the African continent and represents the first time a Turkish aerospace actor has established a presence in Tunisia. Following the signing of the industrial lease on September 24, 2026, the company aims to complete construction, machinery procurement, and qualification processes to begin operations by 2028. The investment is expected to facilitate technology transfer and local skill development within Tunisia’s existing aerospace value chain.
