Aksaray father slashes assailant's ear in retaliation over daughter harassment

In Aksaray, Turkey, a 38‑year‑old father, Ömer Ç., and his brothers confronted 18‑year‑old Ahmet Furkan Ö., who had been repeatedly harassing the father's daughter. During the confrontation on Kurtuluş Caddesi, the father cut the young man's ear with a toy‑knife, and the victim fell bleeding.

Police officers arriving on the scene intervened, with one officer sustaining a hand injury while stopping the father from further violence. Both the victim and the injured officer received emergency treatment at Aksaray Education and Research Hospital. The three brothers were detained, later released under judicial control and travel bans. The incident revived a prior kidnapping case involving the same young man and the father’s daughter from a year earlier.

The victim's severed ear was later reattached in surgery, and he was transferred to a hospital in Konya for continued care. The police investigation linked the assault to the earlier abduction allegations, and the case was referred to the Aksaray prosecutor's office.
