Akseki religious officials volunteer to paint homes for citizens in need
In the Akseki district of Antalya, a community initiative titled ‘Bir Oda, Bir Nefes Projesi’ (One Room, One Breath Project) is providing home improvements for vulnerable citizens. The project is a collaborative effort between the Akseki District Governorate Social Assistance and Solidarity Foundation (SYDV) and the Akseki District Mufti.
Under the program, the SYDV identifies households in need—specifically targeting the elderly and disabled—through social investigations and field studies. While the foundation provides the necessary paint and materials, local religious officials, including Hüseyin Çoban, Mevlüt Serin, and Fatih Özdemir, volunteer their labor to paint the homes.
To date, the project has completed work in the Salihler, Çaltılıçukur, Taşlıca, Kepezbeleni, and Karakışla neighborhoods, benefiting a total of eight individuals. The initiative is planned to continue as more households are identified through ongoing social assessments.
