Akshat Tripathi served and then released from Rs 5 lakh bond notice

Akshat Tripathi, a student at Gautam Buddha University, was served a notice by the Greater Noida Executive Magistrate demanding a personal bond of Rs 5 lakh to maintain peace for six months. The notice was issued on September 4, 2026, under Section 130 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita.

Police alleged that Tripathi was encouraging fellow students to join a protest led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar in Delhi. Authorities claimed he was disseminating “anti-government and misleading” information that could disrupt public order and create tension on the university campus.

Tripathi denied the allegations, stating his participation in the protest was peaceful and noting that he was not attending classes as the university had been closed for nearly three months. Following a review of the situation, police at the Ecotech station revoked the notice on September 4.
