Aksu Municipality facilitates adoption of 10 animals affected by forest fire

Ten animals, including one cat and nine dogs, affected by the forest fire in Aksu on September 7, have been successfully adopted into new homes. The animals were being cared for at the Aksu Municipality Yeşilkaraman Street Animal Care Center and Natural Life Area.

The adoption ceremony was attended by Aksu Deputy Mayor Mehmet Ünsal and Veterinary Affairs Manager Betül Hallaç. Among the adopters, Yasemin Hanım adopted five dogs, Bengi Aktürk adopted three dogs, and Batuhan Karataş adopted one cat and one dog. Karataş named the female dog ‘Çilek’ and the female cat ‘Duman’.

Local citizens who participated in the firefighting efforts and supported the care of the affected animals led the adoption initiative. The adopters encouraged others to adopt rather than purchase pets. Local authorities stated that care for other animals affected by the fire will continue and adoption efforts remain ongoing.
