Akwa Ibom Governor commissions 6.475km Amanyam-Mbiaso Road

Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has commissioned the 6.475-kilometre Amanyam-Mbiaso Road in the Ikot Ekpene Local Government Area. The project, part of the state’s 39th anniversary activities, is an eight-metre wide single-carriageway featuring 12.95 kilometres of side drains.

The new infrastructure is intended to improve connectivity between rural agrarian communities and urban centers, facilitating the movement of agricultural produce to markets and reducing transportation costs. Governor Eno stated that his administration focuses on tangible development and improving living conditions rather than political disputes.

In addition to the road, the Governor promised further projects for the area, including the Ikot Ekpene International Market, primary health centers, and residential developments. Local officials noted that the project supports the benefits of local government autonomy in meeting community needs.
