Akwa Ibom Governor inaugurates rural health centre in Mkpat Enin

Akwa Ibom State Governor Umo Eno has inaugurated a Model Primary Health Centre in Ikot Ekpe, located within the Mkpat Enin Local Government Area. The facility is intended to provide comprehensive and affordable primary healthcare services to residents of Ikot Ekpe and surrounding communities.

According to the Commissioner for Health, Dr. Ekem John, the centre is equipped with modern facilities and sufficient staffing to address local needs, specifically aiming to reduce the distance residents, including pregnant women and children, must travel for basic medical services. The project is part of the administration’s ARISE Agenda.

In addition to the healthcare facility, the Governor announced plans to commission the 10.8-kilometre Mkpat Enin–Efa Road, which connects the area to the Etinan Local Government Area.
