Akwa Ibom State distributes 7,000 bags of rice in Esit Eket

The Akwa Ibom State government has conducted the fourth phase of the ARISE Food Security Programme in the Esit Eket Local Government Area. During the exercise, 7,000 bags of rice were distributed to residents to help mitigate economic hardship and improve household food security.

Commissioner for Humanitarian Affairs, Hon. Emem Ibanga, representing Governor Umo Eno, stated that the initiative is part of a broader commitment to provide relief to vulnerable citizens. Since the programme's inception, over 217,000 bags of food are expected to be distributed across the state. Additionally, eligible beneficiaries are scheduled to receive debit cards preloaded with ₦75,000 on July 30 as part of the state's social welfare support.
