AkzoNobel and Axalta announce leadership for merged company

AkzoNobel and Axalta Coating Systems have announced the leadership structure for their upcoming merger of equals. The companies have appointed Stephan B. Tanda, Denise C. Johnson, and Robert Schuchna as non-executive members of the board for the combined entity.

Upon completion of the transaction, Rakesh Sachdev, the current Chairman of Axalta, will serve as Chairman of the new board. Ben Noteboom, Chairman of the Supervisory Board at AkzoNobel, will take the role of Vice Chairman. The executive leadership will be headed by CEO Greg Poux-Guillaume, supported by Deputy CEO Chris Villavarayan.

The newly appointed board members bring diverse industrial and investment expertise. Denise C. Johnson currently serves as Group President at Caterpillar, while Robert Schuchna is a partner at Cevian Capital. Stephan B. Tanda is the President and CEO of AptarGroup.
