Al-Ahli Aleppo wins first Syrian Super Cup title

Al-Ahli Aleppo has secured the Syrian Super Cup for the first time in the club's history. The match, held at the Latakia Municipal Stadium, concluded in a 0-0 draw during regulation time against Homs Al-Fidaa.

The title was decided via a penalty shootout, which Al-Ahli Aleppo won 3-2. This victory follows the club's recent success in winning the Syrian Premier League title. For Homs Al-Fidaa, this marks their second loss in a Super Cup final, having previously lost in 2019.

Despite the competitive nature of the shootout, the match itself was noted for a lack of scoring opportunities during the ninety minutes of play. The win adds a new trophy to Al-Ahli Aleppo's record after several previous unsuccessful attempts to claim the Super Cup in 1982, 1985, and 2018.
