Al Ahli Saudi appoints Marino Bosic as head coach

Al Ahli Saudi Football Club announced the hiring of Dutch‑Ukrainian coach Marino Bosic on a two‑year contract that runs until June 2028, succeeding German manager Matthias Jaisle. Bosic, 54, previously led Dutch side FC Twente, Ukrainian champions Shakhtar Donetsk, and UAE club Al Jazira, bringing extensive European and Gulf experience. The club expects him to maintain its dominance in the Saudi Pro League and defend the Asian Champions League title. Bosic takes over a squad that has recently seen the departure of key players such as Riyad Mahrez and Franck Kessié, while new signings including Francisco Trincão and Edward Spertián have joined. Al Ahli will begin its season with a domestic league match against Al‑Diriyah on 13 August, followed by an Intercontinental Cup tie against Auckland City on 26 August, after a preseason camp in Spain and Portugal.
