Al Ahly extends contracts of Imam Ashour and Mohamed Abdullah

Egyptian club Al Ahly has secured the futures of two of its first‑team players. Midfielder Imam Ashour signed a new three‑year deal that will keep him at the club beyond his previous contract ending in 2028. The agreement provides a net salary of 30 million Egyptian pounds per season, with variable clauses worth up to 10 million pounds and a significant advertising component that could match the annual wage.

Winger Mohamed Abdullah also received a contract extension and amendment after the club rejected several external offers, including interest from Swiss side FC Zürich and a proposed permanent transfer from his loan club. Al Ahly’s management said the extensions are part of a broader strategy to retain emerging talent and maintain squad stability ahead of upcoming fixtures, such as the friendly Joan Gamper Cup match against Barcelona in August.
