Egyptian football club Al Ahly has officially announced a contract extension for goalkeeper Mostafa Shobeir. The 26-year-old has signed a new deal that will keep him with the club until 2029.
Shobeir, who rose through Al Ahly’s youth ranks, has made 72 appearances for the first team, recording 39 clean sheets. His tenure has included winning the CAF Champions League, the Egyptian Premier League, the Egypt Cup, and the Egyptian Super Cup.
Beyond club success, Shobeir gained international recognition during the 2026 World Cup, where he played a key role in helping the Egyptian national team reach the Round of 16. During that tournament, he notably saved penalties against Iran’s Mehdi Taremi and Argentina’s Lionel Messi.
