Al Ahly defeats Kitara 2-1 in CAF Confederation Cup first leg

Al Ahly secured a 2-1 comeback victory against Ugandan side Kitara FC in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup round of 32 at Hoima City Stadium.

Despite early dominance and several missed opportunities, including a shot hitting the post by Monsef Bakar, Kitara took the lead in the 32nd minute through a goal by Gaddafi Wahab. Al Ahly responded in the second half following tactical substitutions by coach Husein Ammouta. Omar El Soapy equalized in the 67th minute with a powerful strike after dribbling past a defender. The winning goal came in the 82nd minute when Ahmed Sayed Zizo converted a penalty awarded to Akram Tawfik.

The second leg is scheduled to take place at Cairo International Stadium on October 25, where Al Ahly will look to confirm their progression to the group stages.
