Al Ahly defeats Kitara 4-0 to advance in CAF Confederation Cup

Egyptian club Al Ahly secured a place in the CAF Confederation Cup group stage after defeating Ugandan side Kitara 4-0 in the second leg of the 32nd round. The victory, played at Cairo International Stadium, resulted in a 6-1 aggregate win for Al Ahly.

Hussein El Shahat led the scoring with two goals, while Mohamed Magdi Afsha and Taher Mohamed Taher added one each. The win serves as a significant recovery for Al Ahly following recent inconsistent performances in the domestic league.

Al Ahly head coach Hussein Ammoute noted that while the team faced challenges, the timing of the opening goal was crucial for maintaining control. Kitara's continental campaign has ended, and the team will now refocus on their domestic league standing.
