Former Al Ahly star Reda Shehata has issued warnings to the club ahead of the new football season and their upcoming match against FC Barcelona in the Joan Gamper Trophy. Shehata noted that the club's recent administrative moves, including the appointment of Wael Gomaa as football director and several new player signings, have significantly raised fan expectations.

Regarding defensive strategy, Shehata emphasized that defensive stability must begin with the attacking lines rather than relying solely on new defenders. He argued that forwards, wingers, and midfielders must participate in pressing to prevent opponents from reaching the backline.
