Al Ahly Schedules Return of International Players and Pre‑season Friendlies Ahead of 2026/27 Season

Egyptian club Al Ahly announced the schedule for its international players to rejoin training after the 2026 World Cup. According to FIFA‑approved rest periods, Brazilian defender Edward Mendy will be back in five days, Portuguese midfielder Francesco Trincão in ten days, Argentine forward Roger Ibáñez in eleven days, and English striker Ivan Toni in twenty‑three days.

The club also released its first‑stage preparation program for the 2026‑27 campaign. Al Ahly will face Al Nasser in a friendly on 23 July at the Mokhtar El‑Telem stadium, followed by a second friendly against Laviena on 30 July. The international squad is set to resume full training on 27 July, with the team conducting daily sessions before travelling to Spain for an external pre‑season camp.
