Al Ain: 8-year-old boy dies from electric shock via water cooler

An eight-year-old boy, identified as Walid Khaled, died after receiving an electric shock from a water cooler in a residential area near a park in Al Ain.

The incident occurred while the child was playing with his nine-year-old brother, Ahmed, and other children. According to Ahmed, a friend touched the cooler and collapsed. When Walid approached to investigate what he believed was a prank, his shoulder made contact with the device, causing him to fall. Ahmed reported feeling an electric jolt when reaching toward the fallen child.

Walid's father stated that upon arriving at the scene, he observed blackening on the part of the boy's body affected by the shock. Although an ambulance transported the child to the hospital, medical staff were unable to revive him. The boy's death has prompted local calls for increased vigilance regarding the maintenance of electrical appliances and public fixtures.
