Al Ain Region urban development workshop focuses on future growth

The Urban Planning and Permits Centre (UPPC), part of the Department of Municipalities and Transport (DMT), hosted a stakeholder workshop to discuss urban development projects in the Al Ain Region. The event included nearly 90 representatives from over 40 government and private sector entities.

Participants utilized findings from the ‘Plan Al Ain Survey: The Future of Urban Development’ to establish priorities for the region’s transformation. The workshop was organized into four working groups focusing on prosperity and authentic identity, healthy and vibrant communities, sustainability and resilience, and connected mobility.

The session aimed to map existing projects to community feedback and identify new opportunities in public amenities, recreational facilities, and transport infrastructure. The initiative seeks to translate survey insights into actionable policies and strengthen inter-agency collaboration to meet the needs of residents, businesses, and visitors.
