Al-Aqsa Mosque: Hamas condemns Israeli measures to allow Jewish prayer

Hamas has issued a statement asserting that Israeli measures at the Al-Aqsa Mosque complex in East Jerusalem will not succeed in altering the site's Islamic identity. The group's response follows recent escalations, including decisions by Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir to permit the entry of Jewish prayer books and the organization of collective prayers within the complex.

The statement coincides with the 57th anniversary of the 1969 arson attack on the holy site. Hamas criticized the Israeli government's actions as attempts to 'Judaize' the mosque and divide it in terms of time and space. Meanwhile, Israeli police have stated that the management of the site is conducted based on political direction, established procedures, and situational assessments on the ground.
