Al-Azhar announces teacher training and university admission updates

Al-Azhar Mosque has announced the opening of registration for a qualifying training course designed for Al-Azhar graduates. The program, hosted by the Center for Preparing and Developing Quran Teachers, aims to train 500 graduates in scientific and practical skills for Quran memorization work at the Al-Azhar Al-Sharif Corridor. The initiative targets 100 applicants from each of five governorates: Cairo, Giza, Luxor, Qena, and Sohag.

To qualify, applicants must have memorized the entire Quran, be graduates of Al-Azhar, and not be current state administrative employees. The course will utilize a hybrid learning model combining in-person attendance with remote education. Successful graduates may be employed by the Al-Azhar Corridor on an hourly basis.

Separately, Al-Azhar University has extended the deadline for Al-Azhar high school students to register their college preferences for the 2026/2027 academic year until Thursday, September 10, 2026. The university is utilizing a digital transformation approach, allowing students to submit and modify their choices through the Egyptian government's digital portal. Support centers have been established in Cairo, Assiut, and Tanta to assist students facing technical difficulties with the electronic registration process.
