Egypt university admissions: Al-Azhar and third-stage registration underway
University admission processes in Egypt have entered critical phases for the 2026/2027 academic year. Al-Azhar University has opened its electronic registration portal for students to submit their college preferences, a process running from September 5 to September 10, 2026. To assist students, the university has established four support centers in Cairo, Assiut, and Tanta for those facing technical difficulties.
Simultaneously, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research is managing the third stage of coordination for general secondary school students. The ministry is currently waiting for students who passed second-round exams to complete their registrations. To ensure an organized distribution, the ministry plans to announce a single, consolidated result for all third-stage students—including those from the first round and second-round exam takers—rather than issuing separate announcements.
Students are advised to use the official electronic coordination website to review and submit their choices. For Al-Azhar applicants, previous year's minimum acceptance scores are being used as a guide for competitive placement in faculties such as medicine, dentistry, and engineering.
