Al Baha Municipality implements rain readiness and fitness initiatives

The Al Baha Municipality has launched a comprehensive field program to prepare for the rainy season. To enhance readiness and mitigate potential challenges, the municipality has cleaned and prepared drainage channels, manholes, and storm catchments across several locations. This includes the cleaning of 80 culverts under main and secondary roads and the maintenance of 580 water drainage outlets to ensure smooth water flow and infrastructure efficiency.

Additionally, the municipality is working to remove obstructions and sediment from valley and stream beds to prevent water accumulation in low-lying areas. These proactive measures aim to reduce risks and ensure the safety of residents and commuters during heavy rainfall.

In a separate effort to improve quality of life, the Al Baha Municipality has equipped various walking tracks and public parks with fitness and exercise equipment. With 45 walking tracks distributed across Al Baha city and its governorates, these facilities are designed to encourage physical activity and healthy lifestyles. The municipality is collaborating with the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Sport to promote community walking initiatives and physical awareness.
