Al-Bihar Association cleans mangrove forests in Qatif
The Al-Bihar Association for Marine Environment Protection conducted its first field participation by joining an environmental cleanup and awareness campaign in the Qatif governorate of the Eastern Province. Organized by the National Center for Vegetation Cover Development and Combating Desertification, the initiative coincided with World Cleanup Day on September 20.
The campaign focused on cleaning mangrove forests and adjacent coastal vegetation. The event saw participation from government entities, the non-profit sector, scout teams, and volunteers. Ahmed Al-Omair, President of the Al-Bihar Association, stated that this activity is part of a strategy to strengthen partnerships with government and private sectors and to activate the role of divers and marine specialists in protecting natural resources.
In addition to cleaning efforts, the initiative included displays of seedlings and afforestation projects aimed at combating desertification and maintaining ecological balance. The association emphasized its commitment to community and environmental roles in alignment with Saudi Vision 2030 goals for sustainability and marine protection.
