Aden Al-Fardous camp visited by Yemeni human rights and displacement ministers

Yemeni officials, including the Minister of Human Rights Mashdal Mohammed Omar and State Minister for Displaced Persons Walid Al-Abara, conducted a field visit to Al-Fardous camp in the Ras Umran area of Aden. The visit aimed to assess the humanitarian and human rights conditions of families displaced from the coastal districts of Taiz and Hodeidah following recent military escalations.

The camp currently hosts approximately 128 families, totaling more than 600 individuals, living in roughly 250 tents. Officials inspected essential services, including water, sanitation, food, healthcare, and education. A team from the Ministry of Human Rights recorded cases requiring urgent intervention, with a focus on vulnerable groups such as women, children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities.

To address long-term needs, officials are coordinating with local authorities and international organizations. Planned sustainable projects include drilling water wells to replace current water tanks, establishing a small health center, creating a children's playground and garden, and completing the camp's connection to the electricity grid. The delegation included representatives from the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and the UNHCR.
