Al Fatah Islamic Boarding School and FKS Group collaborate on tempeh production
Pondok Pesantren Al Fatah Temboro in Magetan, East Java, has partnered with the FKS Group to establish a tempeh production facility. The initiative aims to ensure food security and provide plant-based protein for the school's approximately 20,000 students.
The facility currently processes between 100 to 200 kilograms of soybeans daily, totaling roughly 1.3 tons per month. The production process is managed by students and alumni, with the FKS Group providing essential training and hygienic production equipment.
While the current output does not yet meet the total nutritional needs of the entire student body, organizers plan to increase production capacity by three to five times. Future expansion plans include developing soy-based derivative products, such as soy sauce, and cultivating rice and soybeans on unused land within the boarding school area.
