Al Haouz authorities mobilize to repair roads damaged by floods

Authorities in Al Haouz, Morocco, have mobilized significant human and logistical resources to reopen roads damaged by heavy thunderstorms, floods, and rockslides. The Provincial Directorate of Equipment, Transport, and Logistics is deploying technical teams, including engineers, technicians, and drivers, along with heavy machinery such as excavators and trucks to clear debris and earth.

Key affected routes include National Road 7 (connecting Tahanaout and Asni), the road between Asni and Imlil, and Provincial Road 2030 connecting Ourika and Oukaïmeden. Work has also targeted National Road 9 between Marrakech and Ouarzazate and Provincial Road 2016.

While several rural tracks and sections of National Road 7 have been reopened, officials remain vigilant. The route between Ourika and Si Touat remains under close monitoring due to strong flood flows. Drivers are advised to exercise extreme caution when traversing mountainous areas and low-lying sections prone to rising water levels or renewed rockfalls.
