Al-Hilal coach Inzaghi cites fatigue after loss to Al-Shamal

Al-Hilal manager Simone Inzaghi attributed his team's 3-1 defeat against Qatar's Al-Shamal in the AFC Champions League Elite to physical exhaustion. Speaking after the match, Inzaghi noted that while the team performed well in the first half, fatigue significantly impacted their performance during the second half.

Inzaghi highlighted several absences and fitness issues, noting that players such as Mahrez, Sommer, and Gabriel Martinelli did not travel to Qatar. Additionally, Ruben Neves and Sergej Milinković-Savić were part of the squad but were not match-ready, preventing them from participating. Despite the loss, the coach praised the performances of captain Salem Al-Dawsari and Bouabri.

Al-Dawsari emphasized the need to correct mistakes and learn from the setback to improve in future matches. The team will return to Riyadh to prepare for upcoming domestic fixtures, including a match against Al-Fateh.
