Al Hilal’s 47-match unbeaten streak in the Saudi Pro League ended following a 2-0 home defeat against Neom. The match, part of the 2026-27 season, saw Neom take control early in the first half through a Kalidou Koulibaly own goal in the 15th minute, followed by a goal from Amadou Koné before halftime.

Despite a star-studded lineup including players such as Yassine Bounou, Rúben Neves, and Sergej Milinković-Savić, Al Hilal was unable to recover. The loss has sparked significant tension between the club and its supporters, with fans calling for the departure of manager Simone Inzaghi via social media. Former goalkeeper Mohamed Al-Deayea also criticized Inzaghi’s management.

Inzaghi took full responsibility for the result during the press conference, stating, “The responsibility for this painful loss... falls entirely on me.” While Al Hilal remains at the top of the league standings, the defeat allows competitors like Al-Nassr and Al-Ittihad to close the gap.
