Çal hosts historic caravan walk through Hançalar Bridge

The Çal district of Denizli hosted the second Hançalar Caravan Route Walk, an event designed to preserve and showcase the region's cultural and historical heritage. A caravan composed of camels and horses traversed a historic route, marking the first time in 106 years that such a procession has crossed the Hançalar Bridge.

The event commenced with a traditional archery demonstration near the historic Kırık Minare. As the caravan moved along the ancient trade and transport route, participants received historical context from Pamukkale University professors İbrahim Balık and Osman Aydınlı. The scholars noted that the area surrounding Kırık Minare was historically known as Kayıpazarı, serving as a significant center for social life and commerce.

Muhammet Aydınlı, President of the Hançalar Kervan Yolu Platformu, stated that the organization intends to make the walk an annual tradition to ensure historical values are passed down to future generations.
