Al Hudaydah children killed or injured by Houthi landmines
Landmines planted by Houthi militias have caused the death of one child and serious injuries to another in Yemen's Al Hudaydah governorate within a 48-hour period.
On Friday, an 11-year-old boy was critically injured by a landmine near Mount Dubbas in the Hays district. This follows the death of 10-year-old Bakr Salem Dawood Eidrous on Thursday, who was killed by an explosion in an agricultural field in the Al-Garahi district while herding sheep.
Official sources indicate that Houthi forces have been planting mines in various parts of the Hays district in anticipation of military advances. A report from the Al Mukha Center for Strategic Studies states that landmines and unexploded ordnance in Yemen have resulted in 4,262 civilian deaths and 7,491 injuries, noting that the actual toll may be higher due to limited access to many areas.
