Al Hudaydah: Houthi shelling causes civilian casualties and displacement

Houthi militia shelling in the Al Hudaydah governorate has caused civilian casualties and significant displacement. Artillery strikes targeting populated areas in the Hays district and surrounding villages have resulted in deaths and injuries among civilians, many of whom are children.

According to the Executive Unit for IDP Camp Management, the escalation has forced approximately 400 people from 57 families to flee their homes in the Hays, Al Garrahi, and Jabal Ras districts. The displaced families have sought refuge in alternative locations such as Owais, Al Qash, and Al Harta, often leaving behind essential property, livestock, and livelihoods.

The Executive Unit has issued an urgent appeal for humanitarian intervention, requesting food aid, clean water, shelter, and medical services, with a specific focus on protecting women, children, the elderly, and persons with disabilities.
