Al-Ittihad coach Jens Vising orders player rest to manage fatigue

Al-Ittihad coach Jens Vising has implemented a rest day for his players following a 2-1 victory over Al-Fayha in the Saudi Pro League. The decision aims to manage physical fatigue caused by a dense match schedule and to ensure player readiness for upcoming fixtures.

Vising noted that the team is evolving but faces challenges due to the frequency of matches, stating that current fitness levels make playing every three days difficult. He emphasized the importance of rotating the squad to manage the workload. The coach also praised Georginio Wijnaldum for his tactical flexibility and leadership within the team.

The squad is scheduled to resume training on Thursday with recovery sessions for starters, before traveling to Riyadh and then to Al-Majma'ah to prepare for their next match against Al-Faisaly. Al-Ittihad currently sits third in the league standings with 14 points.
