Al-Mahra Governor orders review of new power transmission line

The Governor of Al-Mahra, Mohammed Ali Yasser, has ordered a technical review of the study for a new 7.5-kilometer transmission line intended to supply two new power plants in the Al-Ghaydah district.

The project aims to connect the new stations to the main transformer station to stabilize the electricity service in Al-Ghaydah. The first government station has a net capacity of approximately 45 megawatts, while a second station, being implemented via a BOT (Build-Operate-Transfer) system funded by the local authority, has a capacity of 15 megawatts and operates on fuel oil.

Due to the rugged terrain, the transmission line must cross several valleys, including Wadi Al-Jaza, Wadi Masht, and Wadi Khamouri. The Governor instructed a specialized engineering team from the Hadramaut Electricity Corporation to evaluate previous studies and correct any technical errors to ensure the line meets required standards and avoids future malfunctions.
