Al-Mahrah Governor discusses water and sanitation sector improvements

Mohammed Ali Yasser, the Governor of Al-Mahrah, met with the Deputy Minister of Water and Environment and the head of the General Corporation for Water and Sanitation to address the province's water and sanitation needs.

The discussions focused on improving service performance and addressing challenges caused by climate change, population growth, and the influx of thousands of displaced persons. Officials reviewed technical and operational difficulties faced by branches in various districts, particularly in areas with deteriorating infrastructure.

The Ministry of Water and Environment announced plans to implement projects supported by the World Bank and UN-Habitat. These include solar energy systems for the Fawri and Al-Jaza fields and upcoming studies for a sewage project in the capital city, Al-Ghaydah, along with other regional initiatives.
