Al-Masjid al-Haram Imam emphasizes knowledge and scholarly roles

During a Friday sermon at Al-Masjid al-Haram, Imam and preacher Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Awad Al-Juhani emphasized the importance of piety and the foundational role of knowledge in religious practice. He stated that knowledge must precede action to ensure that deeds are built upon clear Sharia principles.

Al-Juhani highlighted the high status of religious scholars, describing them as the heirs of the prophets and essential pillars for protecting faith from misinterpretation. He noted that Saudi Arabia’s support for scholars and scientific advancement is a core part of its developmental strategy, aimed at building a knowledge-based society to achieve sustainable development.

The sermon also addressed educators and parents, urging teachers to serve as role models who combine knowledge transfer with moral upbringing. He called on parents to instill honesty, good character, and a love for prayer in their children.
