Al Nassr and Chelsea secure comeback victories in football leagues
In the Saudi Pro League, Al Nassr secured a 3-2 comeback victory against Al Ettifaq in Dammam. Despite playing with ten men after goalkeeper Bento received a red card in the 12th minute, and trailing 2-0 at halftime, Al Nassr rallied. Coach Ange Postecoglou made the tactical decision to substitute Cristiano Ronaldo at halftime. Sadio Mane scored twice, including the winning goal in the 90th minute, to move Al Nassr to the top of the league table with nine points from three matches.
In the English Premier League, Xavi Alonso’s Chelsea began their season with a 3-2 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage. Chelsea took an early lead through João Pedro, followed by a goal from record signing Morgan Rogers. Cole Palmer scored his second of the match to extend the lead to 3-1. Although Fulham fought back with goals from Josh King and Gonzalo García, Chelsea’s defense held on to secure the victory.
