Al Nassr defeats Abha 2-1 as Ronaldo nears 1,000 goals

Al Nassr defeated Abha 2-1 in a Saudi Pro League match, a victory that moves the club to 15 points, tying them with Al Hilal and Al Qadisiya at the top of the standings. Cristiano Ronaldo opened the scoring in the 22nd minute with a header from an Angelo Gabriel corner. Abdullah Al Hamdan added a second goal for Al Nassr in the 58th minute, while Nabil Fekir scored a late free-kick for Abha in the 75th minute.

This goal was Ronaldo’s 979th career goal, leaving him just 21 goals away from the historic milestone of 1,000 official career goals. The victory also marked Al Nassr’s 93rd consecutive match scoring in league play, a feat previously matched by River Plate in 1936.

Despite the win, former Al Nassr player Fahd Al-Herifi criticized the team’s performance, citing a lack of passion and tactical issues. Additionally, Al Nassr announced a commercial partnership renewal with Aroya Cruises to support the club’s strategic goals.
