Al-Nassr manager Postecoglou discusses tactical shifts after victory over Neom
Al-Nassr head coach Ange Postecoglou expressed satisfaction following his team's 1-0 victory against Neom in the Roshn League. Despite the narrow scoreline, Postecoglou noted that his side created numerous opportunities and deserved a larger margin of victory, though he acknowledged that finishing remains an area for improvement.
Addressing tactical changes, the Australian manager explained that match conditions and opponent styles dictate shifts in formation, such as utilizing midfielders over wingers. He noted that these adjustments are necessary to find solutions against organized defensive blocks. Postecoglou also highlighted the challenge of managing the squad amidst key absences, including players like Coman, Sima Kan, and Abdulrahman Ghareeb.
Neom assistant coach Thierry Olxak attributed his team's deep defensive block to Al-Nassr's offensive strength. He noted that while Neom performed well and created chances, they struggled with clinical execution. Olxak also mentioned that tension within the coaching staff during the match stemmed from concerns over player safety following an incident where Malang Sarr fell on his head.
