Al Nassr social media post sparks Ronaldo greatness debate

Al Nassr sparked a global social media debate after a post on X featured a black-and-white photo of Cristiano Ronaldo with the caption, “The second. On the greatest.”

The ambiguous phrasing and grammatical error led many fans to interpret the post as ranking Ronaldo second behind the greatest player of all time. This reignited the long-standing debate regarding the ‘GOAT’ status of players like Ronaldo and Lionel Messi, even though Messi was not mentioned in the post.

Despite the massive engagement, which garnered over 12.6 million views in half a day, the club has not issued an official statement regarding the ranking. The incident occurred as the 41-year-old striker continues to pursue his milestone of 1,000 professional career goals.
