Al-Qaeda eyes revival of Bin Laden legacy and shift in India strategy

On the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, Al-Qaeda released a video featuring Hamza bin Laden, son of the late Osama bin Laden. Intelligence officials suggest this is a calculated attempt to revive the Bin Laden legacy and unify the group’s fragmented leadership and multiple command centers.

Reports indicate a shift in the group’s strategy regarding India. After recognizing the difficulty of a direct confrontation with the Indian state, Al-Qaeda is reportedly propagating a “vanguard doctrine.” This approach suggests a move away from conventional battles with security agencies toward high-profile, spectacular attacks intended to mirror the impact of the September 11 strikes.

Intelligence agencies are also monitoring concerns that the group may attempt to provoke tensions between India and Islamic nations to exploit public sentiment and radicalize local populations.
