Al-Sadd and Al-Arabi prepare for Romanian coach derby in Qatar

Romanian coaches Cosmin Contra and Răzvan Lucescu are set to face each other in the Qatar Stars League during a match between Al-Arabi and Al-Sadd on October 9.

Al-Sadd, led by Lucescu, currently sits at the top of the league with 12 points from four matches. Al-Arabi, managed by Contra, holds fourth place with six points. Notably, neither team has suffered a loss so far this season.

Ahead of the fixture, Cosmin Contra acknowledged Lucescu’s strong start to the season, stating that Lucescu is “favorite from every point of view.” Contra emphasized that the focus should remain on the club rivalry rather than the personal matchup between the two coaches, while expressing confidence in his team’s preparation.
