Al Shira'aa Bundeschampionate to showcase German horse breeding in Warendorf
The Al Shira'aa Bundeschampionate is scheduled to take place in Warendorf from August 25 to 30, 2026. This traditional event serves as a major showcase for German horse breeding, featuring approximately 1,000 horses and ponies and over 500 participants.
The program includes various disciplines such as dressage, show jumping, and eventing. A key focus for the eventing competition is the cross-country phase, which determines finalists. The Holsteiner Verband will also be represented with several young stallions competing in various age classes.
Additionally, the event features a diverse program on the Sparkassen stage, including expert lectures, talk rounds, and interviews with equestrian professionals and world champions. Recent success at the World Championships in Aachen highlighted the strength of German breeding, with German-bred horses accounting for a significant portion of the medal winners.
