Al Taawoun loses 3-2 to Al Kholood despite Marin Petkov assist

Al Taawoun suffered its first defeat of the Saudi Pro League season, losing 3-2 in an away match against Al Kholood during the second round of the championship.

Al Kholood established a dominant 3-0 lead by halftime, fueled by Shakil Pinares, a former Ludogorets player, who missed a penalty in the 40th minute but later scored a goal. Following halftime, Al Taawoun made three substitutions that shifted the momentum. Abderrazak Hamdallah scored in the 52nd minute to begin the comeback.

In stoppage time, Bulgarian international Marin Petkov provided a precise cross from the left, which Hamdallah converted for his second goal of the match. Despite the late effort, Al Taawoun could not equalize. Al Kholood currently sits in sixth place with four points, while Al Taawoun occupies 12th place with one point after two matches.
